How to use the Grade Calculator
Estimate grade from points earned, points possible, your current grade with the Grade Calculator. It includes Grade, Final Grade, Multi-task grade table, Letter-grade table workflows, so choose the one that matches the values you actually know. Use it to check a practical estimate, paying close attention to the selected units and assumptions.
Step by step
- For the Grade, enter points earned, points possible, your current grade, the grade you want, your final is worth. Keep each value in the unit displayed beside its field.
- Review the selected Grade workflow and inputs, then read grade in the result panel.
- Change one Grade assumption at a time to compare scenarios. Use Reset to restore this tool's worked example values.
How the calculation works
Current grade is earned ÷ possible; final planning solves desired = current × completed weight + final × final weight. Table modes aggregate up to eight point, percentage, or letter-grade tasks using percentage or point weights. Direct-grade rows accept an optional assignment/exam name, grade percentage, and weight.
Worked example
In the Grade worked example, points earned 84, points possible 100, your current grade 84 %, the grade you want 90 % produces grade of 84 %. earned ÷ possible × 100. Review the displayed units before comparing the result.
